ABOUT TAWANNA

​Tawanna Terrell has dedicated her career to public service.  Ms. Terrell – who has worked for the government for nearly 30 years – realized her passion for producing plays in 2014,while working on the hit play, Bound and Gagged.  In 2015, she founded Terrell Entertainment, LLC  with hopes of giving back to the community through the arts.  Since forming Terrell Entertainment, Ms. Terrell has continued building upon her career of service by forming a foundation focused on giving grants to local schools, churches, and non-profits.
 
Ms.  Terrell is a native Washingtonian, and her family has been a long-standing pillar within the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area community.  Her father, the late Jacob B. Terrell, Jr, was the former Assistant Vice President of Circulation of the Washington Post.  Mr. Terrell was the founder of Terrell Enterprises, Inc., which works with local news publication companies to distribute newspapers in the Washington, DC area.  In 2001, Tawanna joined her father at Terrell Enterprises, Inc., and was responsible for growing the company from 21 to 52 employees.  A true entrepreneur, Ms. Terrell also provides housing for veterans with her real estate investment business, and operates a thriving tax preparation service.
 
In her spare time, Ms. Terrell volunteers with several organizations including the Willing Workers of Oxon Hill, MD, the Pi Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc., and the St. Paul AME Church, Men’s club. She and her husband are also faithful and members of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden.
