Christian and/or minister rarely if ever come to mind when describing comedians or ventriloquists. However, if you've ever experienced the legendary Willie Brown and his cast of characters, Woody, Auntie and Uncle Rufus it is quickly evident that he embodies that and more.
Unbeknownst to Willie, he was destined for greatness at the tender age of 5, after watching a ventriloquist show in his hometown of New Haven, Connecticut. His passion was ignited but, what he didn't realize at the time and for many years was that his God -given gift would ultimately land him on the stages of primarily Christian audiences. And that his platform would be not only to entertain, but to do so with the purpose of uplifting and encouraging his audiences while doing God's work.
There have been many twists, turns during Willie's journey and they have all led him to his true calling. He has accomplished many great things in his life. His Clean Comedy Clinic was created with the intention of teaching young and seasoned Christian comics the art of comedy and how not to compromise ones true calling.
Willie has worked alongside other notable greats like Andrew Dice Clay, Eddie Griffin, Damon Wayans while doing secular comedy. Once he acknowledged his true calling he added to his roster of greats, the likes of James Fortune, Kierra (Kiki) Sheard, Marvin Sapp, Charles Jenkins and other great gospel artists.
This humble, minister of the gospel, entrepreneur and visionary comic is a force to be reckoned with. Be ready to laugh your socks off when you check out Willie Brown and friends in a city near you.
