About Deon Q:

“Altruist Light,” so aptly describes the Dallas, Texas native known as “Deon Q.” A singer, songwriter and entertainer, she unselfishly delivers captivating performances with a glowing smile and stage presence that not only lights up a room, but hearts as well. Whether performing the sultry sounds of a Jazz standard or as an up and coming stage actress, Deon Q inspires, captivates and leaves audiences with a smile and wanting more.

Deon Q has a refreshing sound with a classic twist, sultry vocals and a musical style inspired by the early Jazz legends. She grew up listening to all genres of music. Like many accomplished artists, she cultivated her silky smooth vocals in a gospel choir. In a word, she is unique. She has the ability to either deliver a song with a smooth, rich delicacy, or effortlessly ascend into a commanding soulful explosion of emotion. Among her many accomplishments, she has had the privilege of performing at the Bishop Arts and Margo Jones Theatres, and the Grand Prairie Uptown Theatre. A testimony to her mulit-dimensional talent, she was cast as Lorell Robinson and Deena Jones for two productions of Dreamgirls, delivering captivating performances in both roles.

Deon Q has performed at private parties, weddings, and upscale restaurants, as well as legendary Dallas music venues Sandaga 813, The Balcony Club, Buttons Jazz and abroad on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship that featured a Jazz and R & B line-up that included Grammy-nominated duo, Yarbrough and Peoples, the iconic Martha Burks and powerhouse singer film and Broadway actress Liz Mikel, just to name a few.
